Over the past few weeks, I’ve come to learn about the importance of balance, in all aspects; mind, body, spirit, emotions and feelings. Throughout life things come up that knock us off balance and that causes us to stop and take a deep look at the situation. I started to become aware of when I was unbalanced and to me it feels like an uneasy, internal feeling that’s similar to anxiety. My body was communicating with me that I need to change something, whether that’s routine or habits or even thoughts and feelings. The Universe will keep putting things on our path and shaking us up until we take a breath and remember who we truly are and what we truly want in life.
For
me this sign came as a constant uneasy, anxious feeling that was
making me feel negative and overwhelmed. I took a breath and stepped
back from everything and started to write in my journal about how I
was feeling and what my mind was trying to tell me. I became aware
that internally my emotions, thoughts and feelings weren’t aligned
with what I truly want which is love, happiness, joy, peace and
bliss. Instead they were aligned with fear, sadness, negativity and
doubt. I was overwhelmed with thoughts, about things not even
relevant to the present moment and feelings which were there because
of my body’s reaction to those thoughts and overthinking.
It’s
incredible the power that we hold in our mind, we can literally form
scenarios and feel so strongly about them that our body is reacting
like it’s real and actually happening in front of us!
I believe my body and mind was trying to tell me to rebalance by being present in the moment. Nothing else matters or even exists but the present moment and that is where we hold the most power. It was like I snapped out of a trance and realised I was living in my head. In the present moment everything was normal and perfect, I was in my beautiful cosy home, I was healthy and safe, I had delicious food and water; from an outside perspective my life seemed perfect but I managed to create this feeling of unease and anxiety through living in my head. I believe that when we are present in our own life we are truly balanced in our body, mind and spirit. We cannot be balanced if we are living in the past or overthinking the future. This is something I have learnt over the last few days and now that I am aware, I have the power to change the present moment and that is incredible that we have the ability to do that as human beings.
Once we are balanced, we can easily align with what we want and how we want to feel. I often worry about feeling anxious or bringing stress on by overthinking and that is aligning with the story of fear and choosing negativity. When present, I can become aware of how I’m feeling, and I can choose again and set my intentions to align with love, peace and pure high vibrational energy and thoughts.
I’ve written a list below of some things I like to do to be present and rebalance myself.
- Go outside and simply just “be” in nature
- Read a book
- Journaling or scripting
- Meditate and EFT (tapping)
- Sit down and have a conversation with the Universe
- Feel grateful for as many things as I can think of
- Play the piano
- Go to a yoga class
- Bake a yummy cake
- Play with my doggy Charlie
- Have a nice cup of tea and watch something funny on TV (I re-watch Miranda on Netflix everyday – I find it hilarious)
I encourage you to try one of these things and create your own list of what you like doing to truly live in the present moment.
We
can’t be balanced and aligned every single moment of everyday
because sometimes life just happens, we interact with negative people
and we get too involved in our to-do list but becoming aware is the
most important part because when you catch yourself you have the
power right then and there to change your reality. In the present
moment we can chose to rebalance and align with how we want to think
and feel.

first step in becoming more present and ultimately changing your
reality to realign with what you truly want and desire.
